Jus Allah roared onto the Underground Hip Hop scene with his ferocious debut on Jedi Mind Tricks’ classic LP Violent By Design in 1998. Paired alongside Vinnie Paz the world got to hear the bellowing darkness of this Camden, New Jersey-born MC and with a few visceral verses Jus cemented his reputation as one of the rawest MCs in the game. His dark lyrical content fit right in with JMT’s bombastic fire-and-brimstone aesthetic. This was no new pairing: Jus and Paz had long been friends and their collaborations go back to the earliest days of both MC’s careers. Jus’s emergence on Violent By Design was a natural progression for both the group and the artist and together Jus and Paz forged the foundation of JMT’s esoteric battle stance.

While Jedi Mind Tricks continued its path of destruction through two more albums Jus was busy carving out a solo career. His notoriety led to a handful of singles, most notably the White Nightmare record which caused more than its fair share of controversy. Once again Jus put down a lyrical epic that was provocative and on point. Jus has long been known as an MC willing to push the envelope lyrically and the White Nightmare single was further proof of his evolution. The sound he first alluded to as one half of Jedi Mind tricks was being perfected through different creative outlets as he honed his skill.

2005 saw Jus drop his first proper full-length album All Fates Have Changed. The album expanded on central themes of anger, alienation and revenge. His addition to Babygrande Records opened the door for his return to the Jedi Mind Tricks/Army of the Pharaohs family. He was featured prominently on 2007’s AOTP release Ritual of Battle along with AOTP mainstays OuterSpace, Apathy, Celph Titled and the rest of the crew. It also marked the first time Jus rapped beside Vinnie Paz in more than 7 years. Jus quickly hit the road to celebrate his new inclusion in the mighty army, playing to sell-out crowds across the U.S. and Europe. His addition to an already elite crew made an invincible array of talented MCs even stronger.

Jus Allah reunited with his Jedi Mind Tricks brethren for 2008’s A History of Violence and showcased a new-found hunger on seminal tracks like “Monolith” and “Deathbed Doctrine.” Clearly the union was as potent as previous days and Jus was enfolded as a returning member of JMT. His return was heralded as a new era for JMT as both critics and fans alike buzzed about the MCs renewed partnership. A History of Violence once again proved the tandem to be a deadly force.

2010 sees Jus Allah returning to drop more primeval knowledge on The Unholy Terror, the third LP from super-group Army of the Pharaohs. Also in the works is Jus’s second full-length album, MMA, which promises more of the same dark, cryptic rhymes over apocalyptic beats. Jus Allah will once again be hitting the road with JMT as well as touring to support his new record.
